Nassau Tech Tip by Paul Eccardt

On Wurlitzer spinets, the glue joint on their bass bridges sometimes tends to come undone. Both the apron and bridge might fall off.

The best way to fix it is first to break it in any area that shows signs it could split in the future. Then piece it and glue it back together before you put it back in the piano. When you glue it in the piano, the problem that you will have is clamping it down in the correct spot while the glue dries. First, make sure it can go in the exact spot where you want it without glue (dry fit it). Then, when you glue it, you can clamp it with a few pedal springs. They work perfectly because they fit well right between the apron of the bridge and the plate.
