Minutes of the October Meeting

The October meeting of the Nassau PTG was held on October 10, 2000.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

A treasurer's report was submitted and approved.

Old Business: NYSCON has agreed to give us half of our expenses for our one day seminar.

Our technical was by Paul Eccardt, our president. He demonstrated how to tie a knot in a string. Paul also showed a video about restringing a piano. He breaks the beckets, then loosens the strings. The next step is removing coils, cutting the wire, and removing the pins. Paul believes in using the string guide for sizes of wire, or if the piano is not listed, he measures every 6 strings to get the scale. We thank Paul for his interesting presentation and thanks to Lee Dobrins for the use of his video machine.
