Minutes of the September Meeting
by Marty Dinerstein - Secretary

The September meeting of Nassau PTG was held at the Frank & Camille Piano Center, on Old Country Road in Westbury, NY, on September 12. Eight members and three guests attended. The secretary and treasurer's reports were read and accepted. The dinner committee has arranged for our December party at the George Washington Manor in Roslyn. We are maintaining the $38 price.

Delegate report: Our delegate to the convention, Alan Schumacher reported that our name change proposal was rejected by the convention. The reason given was that although they liked Ernie Juhn, they did not want to establish a precedent for other chapters to change their names . They suggested a chapter award of some kind be established.

Len Genovese brought a friend, Guy Hamilton, who may be interested in joining. We welcomed him and hope he joins us. Our technical was by RVP Paul Kupelian. He showed us his method of attaching lid buttons when doing a rebuilding of an old Steinway. The buttons are found on the cheek blocks and the fallboard. Paul removes the fallboard and removes the old part, and makes a new hole for the insertion of the new button. He uses PVC glue to attach the leather buttons. He also showed us a video of his method. We thank Paul for coming and giving us a very interesting and informative presentation.
