The General Meeting

The general meeting for this month will be held on Tuesday, September 12 at 7 p.m. at:

Frank and Camille's Keyboard Center
371 Old Country Road
Carle Place, New York
(516) 333-2811

This is the new location for Frank and Camille's and our new permanent meeting place. The store is located 1/4 mile east of the Meadowbrook Parkway on Old Country Road in the Sam Ash building, next to the Holiday Inn. The entrance and parking lot are in the rear of the building. Drive through the underpass in the center of the building.

The Executive Committee will meet just before the general meeting at 5 p.m. at the Cheesecake Factory Restaurant in the Food Court on the second floor of the Fortunoff Mall.

Ronsen

This month's technical class will be given by the Northeast Regional VP, Paul Kupelian. He will discuss the new PTG application process and other items that passed at this year's Council Session in Rochester. In addition, he will do a mini-technical on replacing the old style leather lid buttons on older Steinways. The procedure uses two sizes of round leather punchings made from cowhide, which are glued in place where the old lid buttons were. This procedure is a great restoration technique, as it keeps the original concept of the lid buttons without replacing them with the hard plastic or rubber buttons with the nails in them. The repair will also last many years after the plastic or rubber ones have dried out and cracked.

Last month's meeting was our season-end dinner party, which was held on Tuesday evening June 13, 2006 at Steve's Piccola Bussola in Westbury.
