Proposed Minutes of the May Meeting
by Michael Slavin, RPT

A regular meeting of the Long Island Nassau Chapter, PTG was held on Thursday May 16, 2013, at Frank and Camille's Keyboard Center, 229B Glen Cove Road, Carle Place, N.Y. Five chapter members and one guest attended.

President Slavin called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

Minutes for the April 9, 2013 meeting were accepted as published in the March newsletter.

The treasurer’s report was accepted as read.

The guest speaker for the evening was Paul Lindeblad of Lindeblad Piano Restoration of Pine Brook, New Jersey, one of the foremost piano rebuilders in our area. Paul began his discussion with a brief history of the foundation of the Lindeblad shop, which goes back four generations, and the various personnel and their responsibilities within the operation. Paul indicated that he wanted active participation from the group, with an open forum approach with questions and answers. Various aspects and approaches to hammer voicing were then discussed, with much input from the assembled group. This was followed with a discussion of his approach to rebushing keys, and his methods for regulating grand actions, again with member participation and suggestions.

The meeting adjourned at 8:12 P.M.

Respectfully submitted,
Michael Slavin, RPT
