The General Meeting

The general meeting for this month will be held on Thursday, May 16 starting at 7 p.m. at:

Frank and Camille's Keyboard Center
229B Glen Cove Road
Carle Place, New York
(516) 333-2811

* Please note the special Thursday date.

This month's technical class will be by Paul Lindeblad, of Lindeblad Piano Restoration of Pine Brook, New Jersey, one of the foremost piano builders in our area. Paul plans to discuss action regulation.

A history of Lindeblad Piano Restoration:

Axel Lindeblad, the family patriarch, was 25 when he left Stockholm, Sweden and immigrated to the United States in 1906. He had a passion for music and was an accomplished player on most stringed instruments.

Pursuing this love of music, Axel worked tuning upright and grand pianos for owners in their homes and repairing pianos out of his home in Brooklyn, N.Y from 1920 to 1956. In the early 1930's, he purchased property in Randolph, N.J. as a family vacation spot for the summer months.

Axel's son, Ed Lindeblad followed his father's footsteps in the piano business during his teenage years. And he moved to the property his father purchased in Randolph, N.J. in 1951. During the early 1950's, Ed worked for Steinway & Sons, but in 1954, he started independently restoring pianos at a facility in Dover, N.J. Almost ten years later, Ed built a restoration shop onto his house in Randolph and it was here his two sons, Paul and Eric, learned the family trade.

Third generation sons Paul and Eric Lindeblad lead the restoration department. Paul takes final responsibility for the well being of all pianos during the restoration process. If your piano is with us, Paul is your point of contact, providing a tailored restoration and keeping you abreast of the status and location of your piano.

The fourth generation, Paul’s son Todd and Eric’s sons Peter and Jon, work full time in the family business. Peter and Jon work closely with their father in the restoration department. Todd is the company’s strategic and customer service lead, focusing his time on our relationship with customers and ensuring quality of service.

Rosendo Vargas and his nephew, Carlos Vargas, run Lindeblad’s refinishing department. Rich Zielenkievicz entered the company in 2009 as a Restoration Specialist. Pete Ribaudo joined us in 2010 as a Master Craftsman with over 30 years of experience. In 2010, Chris Wubbels joined as Marketing Director and Strategic Decision Advisor. In 2011, Dave Donatuccio joined to grow sales. In 2012, Rob Parker joined as Operations Manager overseeing logistics.

Lindeblad Piano Restoration looks forward to continuing the tradition of restoring pianos to excellent condition and delivering exceptional customer service.

The Executive Committee will meet prior to the general meeting at 5 p.m. at the Carle Place Diner, on the northeast corner of Old Country Road and Glen Cove Road.
