Minutes of the March Meeting
by Marty Dinerstein - Secretary

A regular meeting of the LI Nassau Chapter, PTG took place on March 9, 2004 at the Methodist Church in Baldwin. Five members and three guests were present. The technical presentation for the evening was held prior to the business meeting in consideration of the long distance our guests Webb and Ruth Phillips had to travel.

The technical was on touch up materials that could be used in the home. Webb and Ruth presented a host of stains, touch-up sticks and materials for French polishing and demonstrated how these products can be used on old pianos. Although not a substitute for refinishing, some of these materials can do a good job of covering minor scratches and imperfections as well as restoring some of the luster of the piano lost by age. The materials are available from Webb Phillips. An invitation was extended to attend the Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference in Harrisburg, PA. The conference will be held March 25-28, 2004. We thanked Ruth and Webb for an interesting and informative presentation.
