Proposed Minutes of the January Meeting
by Marty Dinerstein - Secretary

The January meeting of Nassau PTG took place at Frank & Camille's Carle Place store on January 14 at 7 p.m. Seven members and one guest attended. The meeting was called to order by President Mike Slavin and the minutes and treasurer's reports were read and accepted.

New Business: Our chapter has to file a report of income with the IRS as an individual chapter - a non-profit organization, not part of the PTG national chapter. Mike said that he had the forms from the Home Office and would do that. We also learned that Bosendorfer has closed their New York City location and Faust-Harrison is now carrying their pianos. Also, we were advised that Baldwin is having serious financial problems. Steinway is opening a new store in Melville, NY on Rte. 110, and the Nassau and Suffolk chapters have been invited on March 6 to visit the store. A separate invitation will be sent. Our technical consisted of a round table discussion of general problems. One of the problems was what to do about jumping tuning pins. The solution proposed by many was to use CA glue around the pins. The meeting ended at 8:30 p.m. We thank Frank and Camille for the use of their store.
