Tech Tip
by Michael Slavin, RPT

When we encounter a loose screw stripped in its hole, I am sure that we all use the repair trick of inserting a toothpick to tighten up the threads. There are times however when the soft wood of a standard toothpick will not adequately succeed in achieving a totally firm grip. In these instances it is more effective to use a shard of harder wood from a hammer shank or old hammer molding. Also, large square toothpicks which are available for serving food are especially useful, as are slivers of flat wooden coffee stirrers or tongue depressors. All of the above are very small and can easily fit in your toolcase.

(January Minutes - continued from previous page)

Our business meeting started at 9 p.m. and we had a reading of the minutes, which was a discussion of our party. We had some negative comments about the place because of their new format, which is that of a catering hall rather than a restaurant. We will look for another place for our next event. Our treasurer Paul Keogler gave a financial report and it was accepted. Our next meeting is February 13. We ended the meeting at 9:30. We thank Frank and Camille for their hospitality.
